Dishonest/Blames Customer - Moving Service

We hired Holman Moving System to empty our two portable storage units and deliver all items to our home about an hour and a half away. I spoke with Al Schady several times telling him that the units were full and the largest (17 foot) units available. He gave me a quote for three men and six hours which I agreed to. As soon as the men saw our units, they were certain that the truck they brought was not going to be large enough. I over heard the mover talking to Al Schady explaining the size discrepancy, he was instructed to continue filling his truck. When I tried to call Al Schady, my call was not answered or returned. Sure enough, the truck could not hold everything and more than 30 boxes and totes were left behind. I had to call every number and extension for several days in a row before Al Schady finally took my call. When it came time to send his men back to complete the move, he refused to do so without me agreeing to pay again for everything! He offered no discount of any sort he even went so far as to tell my husband I did not tell him my move required a larger truck! As if I would know what truck he intended to send or that it would be inadequate! My husband and I payed for another month of storage, rental fees for a U-Haul, hired a babysitter, and spent an entire Saturday more than two weeks later to complete our move. What a rip-off! When I hire you to do a job--finish the job or MAKE IT RIGHT!!

I’m sorry to hear about your experience with us. We sent you the largest truck that we had available within the requested time frame, with three men for six hours, to pick up your belongings. Unfortunately, the truck wasn’t big enough to cover all of your items. Our crew realized this and thought that loading the larger items would help the situation, but we did have to leave the cartons behind. I understand why this was frustrating for you and your family.
